Emergency Management Director Mark Covington has resigned. Haywood County Commissioners appointed Joe Perry as Covington’s replacement. Covington says he is returning to the Brownsville Police Department. He resigned from the police agency to take the EMA directorship. Perry is retired from the military and takes his new post on September 27.
