In November 1909, Booker T. Washington, an African American leader of that era, made a speaking tour of the state of Tennessee. He and his entourage travelled by reserved railcar. The tour began in East Tennessee and ended in West Tennessee. Stops were made in the following places: Bristol, Johnson City, Greenville, Knoxville, Harriman, Chattanooga, ...
