A fire heavily damaged a house near Stanton yesterday. Firefighters responding from the BlueOval City, Brownsville and Stanton firehouses found the structure in flames. The house was near the Haywood/Tipton County line on Highway 70 West. One person, apparently a resident of the house, suffered smoke inhalation.
