Haywood County may be getting another new-to-us fire truck. The Haywood County Budget Committee approved a recommendation that Fire Chief David Smith buy a 1990 model pumper/tanker. The committee met late Monday. Smith has been working to replace even older equipment now in the county’s aging fleet. The truck, he says, is in “mint” condition. …
