During an interview on Brownsville Radio Thursday, Brownsville Mayor Bill Rawls says he will appoint Kelvin Evans to the Brownsville Police Department’s top spot, replacing retiring Chief Barry Diebold. Lynn Sanders will be appointed Fire Chief, replacing David Smith. Smith and Diebold will retire June 30 — both after long careers with Brownsville.
