A coalition of rural power providers are holding a public meeting Monday at Stanton’s Methodist Church discussing plans to build a gas-fired peaking plant at the megasite The Haywood County Commission will meet in special session Tuesday, June 30, to consider its 2026–2027 budget. The meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m.
