The electrical grid serving Brownsville and most of Haywood County shut down yesterday. The power was off from about 8am until 10:30am. What happened? Nobody has provided the precise cause. Sources said TVA, the utility that provides power to Southwest Electric and Brownsville Utility, experienced a failure that shut the electricity off.
