The University of Tennessee’s retired mascot, Smokey X, has been diagnosed with kidney cancer, according to information released by the University. The University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture commented on the 14-year-old bluetick coonhound’s diagnosis last week. During Smokey X’s recent biannual appointment, veterinary staff discovered a small mass on his kidney.
