Cinco De Mayo isn’t an official holiday in Mexico or in the US but a day of remembrance for Mexicans. On May 5, 1862, out-numbered Mexican fighters won a battle against an invading French army near Puebla, Mexico during the second Franco-Mexican war. It’s celebrated with events around town today.
